Services for Julia Nadine Hamilton, age 92, of Mt. Vernon, Texas were held Thursday, September 20, 2012 in Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home Chapel, Mount Vernon, Texas.
Burial was at Dawson County Cemetery, Lamesa, Texas. Mother was born November 5, 1919 in Desha, Arkansas to Robert and Eunice Simmons and was the oldest of 6 children. She was married to Victor Graham Hamilton, of Lamesa, in 1939. They had three children. Two were twins with one living only 24 hours. They had a home in Lamesa for 66 years, with only a short time in Andrews. She lived in Mt. Vernon from 2006 until her death. Mother passed away September 18, 2012, in Mt. Vernon. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1993 and daughter in 1945.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Ann Hamilton of Roswell, NM; a daughter and son-in-law, Janis and Harlan Cooper of Mt. Vernon; a brother and sister of Desha, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was “Grandmother” to all the family & loved very much.
Mother became a Christian as a teenager and was faithful to raise us in church. We are very grateful that we were introduced to Jesus at a young age. Mother and Daddy are at home now and we look forward to seeing them again.
