A gathering in celebration of the life of Patsye Ruth Walker, age 72 of Mount Vernon, was conducted Friday, Nov. 30, 2012 at the American Legion Post 243 in Mount Vernon.
Mrs. Walker was born May 1, 1940 in Shilo, Tex., to William Sidell Reynolds and Beatrice Wortham Reynolds. She was married to Alton H. Walker.
She died on Wednesday, Nov. 28 in Mount Vernon. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Alton “Buck” Walker, her in-laws, Charrie C. and Myrtie Walker, two brothers, William H. “Bill” Reynolds and Ken A. Holleman, a sister, Joyce Dalby, and her uncles, L. G. Reynolds and Marvin “Bud” Wortham.
She is survived by three children and their spouses, Pam and Monte Godfrey of Winfield, Melanie Walker of Mount Vernon and Anthony and Kim Walker of Mount Vernon; six grandchildren, Damian Godfrey of Mount Vernon, Tori Labutis of Texarkana, Tex., Justin Williamson of Bryan-College Station, Warren Williamson of Farmers Branch; and B.J. and Jeremy Walker of Mount Vernon; 16 great-grandchildren, one brother, David Reynolds; four sisters, Betty Holleman, Shirley Stafford, Dorothy Pegeus, and Charlotte Jean Sweat; and her extended Godfrey family.
