Funeral services for Harold Wayne Swanner, age 86 of Scroggins, were at noon, Friday, Jan. 4, 2013 at Beaty Funeral Home in Winnsboro. Burial was in the Maples Springs Cemetery with Bro. Larry Black officiating.
Mr. Swanner was born on May 29, 1926 in Scroggins to William B. and Maud Josephine Winkle Swanner. He was a lifelong rancher and cattelman and a member of the Cattlemans Association.
He died Tuesday, Jan. 1. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Earlene Virginia Sparks Swanner of Scroggins; a daughter, Pam K. Swanner of Winnsboro; two sons and daugthers-in-law, Jessie Craig and Lisa Swanner of Scroggins and Randal and Malinda Swanner of Scroggins; seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Knight, Donnie Knight, James Larry Henry, Bernard Kear, Nick Winkle, and Terry Swann.
