Funeral services for Winnie Mae Richey, age 86 of Scroggins, were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2013 at Beaty Funeral Home in Winnsboro. Burial was in the Pine Forest Cemetery with Bro. Ronny Spence officiating.
She was born July 12, 1926 in Franklin County to Ernest Evers and Eula Jones Evers. She marreid Charles Richey on Aug. 12, 1942. She was a homemaker, gardner, and a seamstress.
She died Saturday, Jan. 12. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, May Dell Evers, and two grandsons, Jacob Richey and Rocky Shelton.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Charles Richey of Scroggins; a son and daughter-in-law, Stuart and Charlotte Richey of Mount Vernon; five daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Sonny Shelton of Scroggins, Paula and John Gullo of Crockett, Beverly and Don Gibson of Garland, Rose and Mike Gunn of Scroggins, Janis and Bill Crosby of Hide-a-Way Lake, and Katherine and Craig Lacy of Mineola; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Barbara Boyd of Plano and Melba Hopkins of Scroggins; and a brother, Dalton Evers of Scroggins.
Pallbearers were Rhett Reid, Sonny Shelton, Stuart Richey, J. J. Richey, Josh Richey, and Terry Capps.
