Alamo contest winners infant through third grade

Alamo Mission Museum’s Halloween costume contest infant through third grade winnersWinners in the annual Alamo Mission Museum’s Halloween costume contest were chose on Saturday, October 26. In the infant through third grade division, first went to Konnor Bogue, followed by Bentlee Smith, Gracee West, Jaedyn Clayton, and Lindsey Morgan.

Funeral services for Paul Dean Gilbert, age 81 of Fort Worth, formerly of Mount Vernon, were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013 at Mountain Valley Funeral Home.

Eight file with Republican Party as candidates for office

Eight individuals have registered as candidates for county office with the Republican Party since filing opened Saturday, November 9. People who want to file as a candidate for the March primaries may do so between now and Monday, December 9.

Mount Vernon junior varsity Lady Tiger place second at tournament

The Mount Vernon junior varsity Lady Tiger volleyball team finished second at the Paul Pewitt Tournament last week. The team beat Paul Pewitt 25-11 and 25-10 and beat Atlanta 25-21 and 25-20.
