The Mount Vernon junior varsity Lady Tigers volleyball team beat Chapel Hill in games on Tuesday, Oct. 29. The junior varsity team won in two sets 25-21 and 25-22.

Mount Vernon Cross country teams compete

The Mount Vernon Tiger and Lady Tiger cross country teams competed at the regional cross country meet in Grand Prairie on Saturday, Nov. 2. The Lady Tigers finished 18th overall at the event and the Tigers finished 22nd overall. For more information, see the Nov. 7 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.

Saltillo boys qualify for state in cross country

The Saltillo varsity boys cross country team placed third at the regional meet in Humble on Saturday, November 2. They will compete at the state meet in Round Rock on Saturday, November 9.

Lady Tigers are Bi-district champions

Emily Floyd stretches to tip the ball over the netEmily Floyd stretches to tip the ball over the net while her Lady Tiger teammates are ready in case the ball is returned. The now 32-5 Lady Tiger Volleyball team defeated the Linden-Kildare team in three sets Monday night in Mount Pleasant to claim the Bi-District Title.

Tigers to travel to Redwater

The Mount Vernon Tiger varsity football team will travel to Redwater on Friday, November 1. The Tigers must have a victory Friday night to advance to post season play.
