Seventh grade Lady Tigers are champs

Hallonquist Bowl set in Mount Vernon

Andrew and Will HallonquistThe Hallonquist Bowl, otherwise known as the junior high football game, will take place Thursday, September 19 at Don Meredith Stadium. Andrew Hallonquist coaches junior high football for Mount Vernon and teaches seventh grade history.

Junior high ladies win

Tigers travel to Cooper

The Mount Vernon Tigers will travel to Cooper to face the Bulldogs this Friday, Sept. 13, at 7:30 p.m. The Bulldogs were area  finalists last year and have nine offensive and five defensive starters who returned from their previous team. Mount Vernon defeats Linden-Kildare Tigers 49-16

Mason Cook follows the lead of Zac Migues as he clears a path to move the football up the field for the Tigers.The Mount Vernon Tiger football team traveled to Linden-Kildare (LK) on Friday, Sept. 6 and added some purple bruises to the blue Tiger team. “I was very pleased with the offensive line and our ability to run the ball,” Head Coach Mike Alexander said. “That is one of the things we really wanted to accomplish.”

Cross country teams compete
