Mount Vernon loses to Daingerfield

Sub-varsity Lady Tigers split volleyball games against Hughes Springs

The freshman Lady Tigers beat Hughes Springs on Tuesday, October 14 in Tiger Gym in two sets 25-13 and 25-8, and the junior varsity Lady Tigers lost to Hughes Springs in two sets 20-25 and 15-25.

Tigers cross country team regional qualifiers

Junior high teams play Harts Bluff

The Mount Vernon Junior High Lady Tigers 7A and 8A volleyball teams defeated Harts Bluff on Monday, October 13. The seventh grade B team lost in two sets 14-25 and 16-25, and The eighth grade B team did not play.

Lady Tigers team advance to Region II meet

They earned to right to advance to the Regional meet on November 1.

JV football teams play Hughes Springs and Winnsboro

Michael Smith makes a 30 yard kick off return for the JV Purple Tigers football team.Michael Smith makes a 30 yard kick off return for the JV Purple Tigers football team. With JV Purple quarterback Jake Graf pulled up to play on the varsity team, the JV Purple team struggled during their 28-0 loss to the Winnsboro Red Raiders.

Eighth grade Lady Tiger volleyball team District champions

front row, left to right, Sam Lowry, Sara Sinclair, Riley Hughes, Heather Brown, Maddie Hatch, back row, Annie Coffey, Zaylen Lee, Marleesha Swain, Zakenya Linwood, and Harley Robertson.The eighth grade Lady Tiger volleyball team went undefeated in district to win their second straight district championship with a victory over Paul Pewitt on Monday, October 20.

The games were split at the 2014 Hallonquist bowl between the Mount Vernon Junior High and the Memorial Middle School football teams on Thursday, October 16 in Winnsboro.
