Softball bats get cracking for 2014

The Mount Vernon Lady Tiger Softball have their bats cracking and are preparing for the upcoming season. A 2014 preseason poll released by the Texas Girls Coaches Association puts Mount Vernon at the number two spot on their statewide rating.

Saltillo Lions defeat Yantis 54-31

Alexander, Ables to join Chick-Fil-A Heart All Star Game

Mount Vernon will be well represented at the 2014 Fellowship of Christian Athletes Chick-Fil-A Heart of a Champion Bowl All Star Game. Mount Vernon ISD Athletic Director Mike Alexander will be the head coach of the Blue team.

Lady Lions are Area Champions

Clover made 16 points for the Lady Lions. The Saltillo Lady Lions basketball team defeated the Slidell Lady Hounds 67-39 on Saturday, February 15 to claim the Area Championship.

Power lifting team third overall

Mount Vernon Junior high boys finish season

The Mount Vernon Junior High Tiger basketball teams finished their season Monday night in Tiger Gym. The seventh grade A team defeated Chapel Hill 44-25. They were declared District Champions with a 13-1 season record.

Mount Vernon Junior varsity Tigers claim two victories
