Mount Vernon Junior high boys finish season

The Mount Vernon Junior High Tiger basketball teams finished their season Monday night in Tiger Gym. The seventh grade A team defeated Chapel Hill 44-25. They were declared District Champions with a 13-1 season record.

Mount Vernon Junior varsity Tigers claim two victories

The junior varsity Tiger basketball team defeated both Prairiland and DeKalb last week. The JV team has a 7-4 district record and are 8-12 for the season. See the February 13 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald for details from these games.

Brett Thomas heads to the basket for the Tigers. The Mount Vernon varsity Tiger basketball team defeated the Prairiland Patriots 31-26 in front of a home crowd on Tuesday, February 4.

Alexander, Ables to join Chick-Fil-A Heart All Star Game

Mount Vernon will be well represented at the 2014 Fellowship of Christian Athletes Chick-Fil-A Heart of a Champion Bowl All Star Game. Mount Vernon ISD Athletic Director Mike Alexander will be the head coach of the Blue team.

Lady Tigers District Champs, Bi-District Champs, headed to Area
