Halloween Hayride & Costume Contest

The annual Halloween Hayride and Costume Contest for children is set for Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Alamo Mission Museum grounds. Admission iis one canned food item per person. Food collected will go to the Franklin County Food Bank to help local needy families. There is no addtional charge for a hot dog meal with sides and a drink for the first 200 attendees.

The first event of the evening is the Costume Contest, with a registration deadline of 7 p.m. for those who want to be considered in the juging. First and second place plaques will be awarded in two division: infant through kindergarten and first grade and older.  Hayrides will start immediately following the announcement of winners in the costume contest.

The first few trailers will be for younger children and an adult escort only. These early rides will not include the scarier portions of the ride that will be done for tween, teen and adult riders later in the evening. Children can enjoy games while awaiting their turn for the hayride. 

Games available, include apple bobbing, pumpkin limbo, and races. In addition, there will be a fortune teller and the opportunity to get a face tatoo (paint).
