Food & Wine festival to feature week full of activities

A week full of events has been planned in conjunction with the ninth annual Mount Vernon Food & Wine Festival from Saturday, October 20 through 27.

Booth space available, dinner sold out for Food&Wine fest

Vendors are being sought for booths at the ninth annual Market on Main portion of the Mount Vernon Food & Wine Festival set for Saturday, October 27. The event is set from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Registration now open for 42 Tournament

Advanced registration for  the 31st annual CountryFest 42 Tournament, on Saturday, October 13, is now underway at any of the bank’s four locations untill no later than 5 p.m. Friday, October 12.

Teen short story writing contest opened to students

A teen only short story contest is now open for submissions with no entry fee. The contest, sponsored by the Northeast Texas Writers Organization, will close November 1, 2018.

Pleasant Mountain Boys coming to Calvary Baptist

The Pleasant Mountain Boys will be in concert Saturday, October 6 at Calvary Baptist Temple. Singing begins at 6:30 p.m., with fellowship to follow.

Johnny Salvesen to perform at First Methodist Church

Johnny SalvesenRenowned soloist Johnny Salvesen will perform a variety of music, from spiritual to show tunes to opera, in a performance at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, in the sanctuary at First United Methodist Church in Mount Vernon.
