Photography classes for children planned

A pair of children’s photography safari classes have been scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturdays, July 23 and 30. This two part series of classes is for children ages eight to 12.

Pinhole, digital camera class set

A free teen and adult pinhole camera and digital photography class will be offered by the Franklin County Arts Alliance from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 16.

Concert set for Thursday, July 7

Bankhead Highway Faces and Places video contest open

The Faces and Places of the Bankhead Highway video contest is free to enter and open to the public. As a part of the 100th anniversary of the highway, the Texas Historical Commission is encouraging the general public to submit video capturing experiences along the highway.

Good time on the square

Keitron Fountain, center, led the event playing the keyboard and singing. T.K. Fountain and Genetia Duffy, in front, provided back up vocals, and MyRodge McGill and Mavin Tennon on precussion.A toe-tapping, hand-clapping good time was had at the free concert on the square on Thursday, July 7. Keitron Fountain, center, led the event playing the keyboard and singing.

Film class set at arts center

Brad Maule will be teaching a film class for the Franklin County Arts Alliance from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 9. He will be covering information about being both in front of and behind the camera.
