Fireworks over the lake set for next week

The annual fireworks over Lake Cypress Springs will be Saturday night, July 2. The fireworks display will begin at 9:30 p.m. and will be presented by the Boltz family.

North Franklin fish fry June 25

Members of the North Franklin Volunteer Fire Department will be hosts for a fish fry on Saturday, June 25 at the Hagansport Community Center. The fish fry will be at 5 p.m.

MOM meeting tonight

The MOM (Ministering Our Military) support group will have its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. tonight, Thursday, June 16. The organization serves families of active military personnel in Franklin, Titus, Red River, Morris, and Camp counties.

Summer Reading Program begins Tuesday

The Summer Reading Program (SRP) at the Franklin County Library will begin Tuesday, June 21 and continue each Tuesday through Tuesday, July 26.

Science exhibit on square Monday

A traveling science exhibit  will be at the downtown Mount Vernon plaza from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, June 20. The Trailblazer exhibit will be parked on the downtown plaza and is free and open to the public.

Alzheimer Support Group to meet

The Alzheimer Support Group for the Mount Vernon area will meet at 2 p.m. Thursday,June 16, at the Franklin County Library on the square.
