Two earn Eagle Scout rank

Grayson Sewell and Jared McNuttGrayson Sewell and Jared McNutt, both members of Mount Vernon Boy Scout Troop 271, sponsored by the First United Methodist Church in Mount Vernon, recently completed requirements, passed a board of review, and were presented the rank of Eagle Scout.

St. John art secured for promotions

The Mount Vernon Main Street Alliance board approved a $1,500 purchase of copyrights for a selected group of water color art work by Sandra St. John for use by the organization in promoting Mount Vernon and the Plaza District during their Monday, September 18 meeting.
