End of School Bash Saturday

An “End of School Bash” for students and their families is planned at Little Creek Park from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 5 with members of the Community Events Committee serving as hosts.

National Day of Prayer gathering Thursday

The local observation for the 2018 National Day of Prayer will be celebrated in the District Courtroom of the Franklin County Courthouse at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, May 3. The event will conclude at 8 a.m. For more information see the May 3 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.

Volunteers needed for “Paint our Town”

Volunteers are still needed for the annual “Paint Our Town” project. A total of 200 volunteers will be needed for this one day project.

The Franklin County Extension Office for agriculture is partnering with the Titus County Extension office to offer Private Pesticide Applicator training Monday, April 30.
