The annual meeting of the Greenwood Cemetery Association will be Saturday, August 6 at 10:30 a.m. in the Greenwood Baptist Church. A business meeting and financial report will be presented.

Confederate Irish is topic of camp meeting

Compatriot Michael Hurley of the Tyler Camp will present a program entitled “The Confederate Irish” for the monthly meeting of the 1st Lt. David Richard Reynolds Camp, Sons of Confederate Veterans, at 7 p.m. Monday, August 1.

The Good Hope Cemetery Association will have its annual Memorial Day Service at the Good Hope Primitive Baptist Church just south of the cemetery on FM 4315 at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, July 24.

Benefit set for Lappin family

A fishing tournament benefit for the Jay Lappin family has been organized for Saturday, July 30 from 6 a.m. to noon at the old Titus County boat ramp off FM 3417 in Mount Pleasant.
