With flu season set to begin and the vaccine in plentiful supply, the Texas Department of State Health Services encourages everyone six months old and older to get vaccinated to protect themselves and their families against the flu.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says that children under age nine who are getting the flu vaccine for the first time should get two doses at least four weeks apart. For more information, see the Oct.10 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
