Navy Seaman Kasey Dale Bogue, age 22, completed U.S. Navy basic training at Great Lakes, Ill. on May 12 and graduated as an E-2. He will attend school in Great Lakes through July.

“Word Wars,” a teen only short story contest is now open for submissions with no entry fee. The contest, sponsored by the Northeast Texas Writers Organization (NETWO), will close at midnight Friday, July 17.
