Adopt-A-Spot program revived

The revival of a once successful program with groups and individuals assuming the planting and care of small areas of public grounds was announced by Mount Vernon’s City Administrator Tina Rose at last week’s workshop session of the Mount Vernon City Council.

Mitchell is 2018 Queen for Sheriff’s Posse

Queen Haleigh Mitchell, Princess Dailee Postell, Junior Princes Essence Evans, and Junior Queen Kelsey Davila will represent the posse at rodeos, parades and other events Haleigh Mitchell of Quitman was announced as the 2018 Rodeo Queen for the Sheriff’s Posse of Franklin County during the Labor Day Weekend Rodeo on Sunday, September 2.
