A public shooter in the making seminar Saturday

Authors, ribbon cutting to reopen Texana library

A grand reopening celebration is planned for the Wilkinson Texana Library at the Old Firestation Museum Saturday, November 10, with a ribbon cutting, reception and six authors, whose works are in the library, speaking about their books and engaging with attendees.

Disc golf support requested, Ostertag resigns board

A request for help in funding the locally held World Amateur Disc Golf Championship tournament was heard, and the resignation of Shannon Ostertag from the Mount Vernon Economic Development Corporation’s board was accepted at the organization’s monthly meeting November 8.

Collections, sign-ups begin for Christmas food baskets

Ladies shopping event Saturday

A Ladies Day Out shopping experience will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, November 10 with proceeds from booth rentals to be donated to the Mount Vernon Animal Shelter.

Fall Family Fun Fest at FUMC Saturday

The second annual Fall Family Fun Fest will be Saturday, Nov. 3, with lots of free activities, at the First United Methodist Church (FUMC) on Hwy. 37 across from Mount Vernon ISD.
