The jointly conducted Christmas for All food basket and gift program was declared a success by volunteers and coordinating organizations. In addition, the Franklin County Child Welfare Board served local children in foster care, and 67 Community In Schools families shopped at a specially organized “Christmas Store” for needed items.
The gift portion of the program was coordinated by the Communities In Schools offices, Mount Vernon Independent School District principals’ offices, local churches, and service and business organizations. See the rest of the story in the Dec. 19 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
