Attorney: Find community’s niche, retail follows roof tops

The Mount Vernon City Council and its Economic Development Corporation board were urged to create a niche for the community and reminded that retail companies follow rooftops in a training session conducted by their attorney Stan Lowry.

Mr. Lowry, a Mount Vernon native, reported that three things have been identified as key for people as they determine where to live: quality housing, adequate health care, and the quality of the school district. Those correlate with the top two elements in having sustainable retail businesses – sufficient rooftops and traffic/head count. See the September 19 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald for more information from Mr. Lowry’s presentation.
