Suit settlement returns $4.75 million to district, taxpayers

An out-of-court settlement of a law suit will return $4,750,00 to the Franklin County Water District’s coffers and by extension the taxpayers.

Inmate housing agreement approved for Red River Co.

Approval was given Monday to an interlocal agreement for Franklin County to provide Red River County with inmate housing at a cost of $40 per inmate per day to help alleviate personnel shortages and /or overcrowding at the Red River County Jail.

The Text to 9-1-1 service is now available for citizens to send a text message directly to the 9-1-1 dispatch center for assistance in the event they are unable to make a voice call.

Four heating /cooling units to be replaced at county LEC

Four aging heating and cooling units at the Franklin County Law Enforcement Center were authorized for replacement funding of about $35,000 from the inmate housing funds account at the Tuesday meeting of the Franklin County Commissioners Court.
