American Legion celebrates 100 years

The American Legion will be celebrating its 100th anniversary on March 15, 2019. The event will be celebrated locally at the American Legion Post 243, located on CR SE 4265 with an open house and hot dog lunch from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 16.

Injured driver leaves accident scene

Raymond Hamm, age 31 of Leesburg, was injured in a single vehicle accident Saturday, March 2 just prior to 3 p.m., but left the scene and went to his residence.

Record high temps noted in February

The First National Bank of Mount Vernon filed a report of fraud around 10 a.m. Thursday, March 28. The case includes the removal and possible sale of items from a business that is in default.

CodeRed two-year contract renewed for less

Franklin County residents and visitors will receive access to early warning messages through a renewed two-year contract for more than $7,000 fewer tax dollars with Onsolve, LLC the parent company for the CodeRed emergency notification service program.
