Saltillo Store closed after fire

The Saltillo Store in Saltillo has been closed after a fire destroyed the building around 7 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 18. The owners, Billy and Ann Ward, do not plan to rebuild and re-open the business.
According to Mr. Ward, the fire started on the west end of the structure in the storage room where the refrigerators, freezers, and dry goods were kept. See the August 22 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald for more information.
