The discovery of a small leak has prompted preemptive plans for a cutoff valve installation to protect business water users along the south service road to I-30 both east and west of Hwy. 37.
Mount Vernon City Administrator Tony Stonecypher told the council last week of the plan to install an in-line valve at a cost of $9,000-$10,000. For more details about this repair, see the June 19 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
