Rising costs add to county’s budget needs

Continually rising costs for goods and services, together with a plethora of unfunded mandates dictated by the Texas Legislature,

have added more than $427,200 to the county’s funding needs for 2018 over 2017, leaving the County Commissioners Court favoring 4:1 an increase in ad valorem taxes to be proposed at their regular meeting onset for Monday, Aug. 14.
