County HOT board and funding future in question

The future of the Franklin County Hotel-Motel Occupancy Tax Fund, as well as its advisory board, have been brought into question by members of the county’s commissioners court.

It narrowly averted dissolution of the board in a split vote at a special meeting last week. The commissioners were evenly split, but Judge Lee instead opted to keep the advisory board, until the Court hears from one of the state’s experts on the use of the funds. on Wednesday, October 18.
