Burn ban lifted after rain received

Franklin County Judge Scott Lee issued an order Tuesday, Dec. 19, lifting an emergency ban on outdoor burning in Franklin County just six days after being put into effect when rains brought much needed relief to the northeast Texas area.

The action to rescind the ban went into effect immediately.  The removal of the ban was spurred when rains caused the Keetch-Bynum Drought Index to drop the local area rating from over 600 to around 400, and their Fire Danger index from high to low.
