Preliminary engineering report on spillway delivered

Costs will be high and benefits per dollar spent low for alternatives to return Lake Cypress Spring’s emergency spillway to its original capacity.

The proposed work will still not alleviate potential damages to structures built below the 385 ft. MSL flood plane based on the Preliminary Engineering Report presented by Carollo Engineers at the February meeting of the Franklin County Water District Board of Directors. For details from the report and proposed options, see the March 8 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
