Repair estimate high for fire training facility

The Franklin County fire training facility suffered water damage from a burst pipe and the repair estimate is more than $20,000 County Commissioners learned at the Monday, March 12 meeting.

The facility was damaged as a result of the Dec. 31, 2017 freeze. Due to the extended cold temperatures, above average rainfall, and the rural location of the building the damage was not found until Feb. 1, 2018. To learn more about the extent of the damages and the total cost, see the March 15 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
