Commissioners to auction unused ballfield light poles, fixtures

The 12 unused, never installed, ball field lighting poles and light fixtures, which were purchased to mount on top of them, will be auctioned by Franklin County to the highest bidder after years of being unable to put them to use at the county’s sports complex.

“When the county purchased them for $92,000 they had no way of knowing it was going to cost another $225,000 to put them up,” said Franklin County Judge Scott Lee. He proposed an auction of the items. For more information about this and other actions taken at Monday’s meeting, see the May 17 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
