The annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive sponsored by the National Association of Letter Carriers, in conjunction with the United States Postal Service, was Saturday, May 12.

Rural mail carriers in Mount Vernon and surrounding areas  collected nonperishable food items. Food donations were taken to the post office and then delivered to the Franklin County Community Food Bank. For more information, see the May 24 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
