The Mount Vernon City Council members approved SWEPCO’s proposed overall base rate reduction, temporary income tax rate, and new Distribution Cost Recovery Rider and Transmission Cost Recovery Factor Rider to continue to save local utility users between $4 and $7 a month on their electric bills.
Members of the Council felt they did not have enough information about two opposing requests involving SWEPCO’s proposed $4.5 billion Wind Catcher Energy Connection project. For more information about these topics and other actions taken by the council, see the July 12 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
