Precincts to consolidate for General Election

The number of voting locations for the November 5 General Election on amendments to the Texas Constitution will be cut in half due to the traditional low voter turnout for the election and to reduce costs.

The consolidation and subsequent naming of election judges and setting of the number of workers for each location was approved in the Monday meeting of the Franklin County Commissioners Court. For more about this consolidation and other action taken by Commissioners, see the September 12 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
