Audit presented, budget/tax rate approved, ear-full given

The Franklin County Commissioners Court accepted the outside audit report for 2018, approved both the 2020 budget and 2019 property tax rate to help fund the budget,

but not before being chastised for the handling of Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) Funds and being asked to reconsideration the funding. Greg Ostertag, one of several business owners present, took the lead in speaking to the Court concerning the failure to fund the Mount Vernon Food & Wine Festival with any of the HOT funds.
