TxDOT urges drivers to ‘End the Streak’ of daily deaths

The last deathless day on roadways in Texas was November 7, 2000. That means for 19 years straight, at least one person has died every single day.

Since that date, fatalities resulting from vehicle crashes on Texas roadways have numbered almost 67,000. Officials with the Texas Department of Transportation have launched the #EndTheStreakTX campaign that asks all Texans to join the effort to end this deadly 19-year streak. See the November 14 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald for more details about this campaign.
