Council back-pedals on health ordinance

Members of the Mount Vernon City Council spent a portion of the meeting Monday, December 9, back-pedaling on the Peddlers and Health and Sanitation Standards Ordinances.

Both ordinances were enacted with best of intentions to protect city citizens, but many council members are concerned that they may be causing undue hardship for local individuals. See the December 12 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald for the rest of this story.
