Pedestrian struck in parking lot following family argument

First responders were called to the McDonald’s parking lot on Hwy. 37 for a pedestrian struck by a vehicle around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13.

When they arrived, they found Mistie Knighton on the ground in the far back corner of the parking lot. A witness told officers that there had been a family argument. When the suspect drove away, the rear bumper struck Ms. Knighton.  She was taken to a local hospital by ambulance with unknown injuries. See the October 22 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald for more incidents handled by local law enforcement last week.
