Hospital purchase not accepted by county

The Franklin County Commissioner’s Court did not accept an offer to purchase the old county hospital building on Hwy. 37 across from the Mount Vernon ISD campuses when they met December 31.
Local attorney and retired district judge, Lanny Ramsay, offered the county $10,000 cash for the building. See the January 7 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald for more information about this offer.
