A flurry of candidates filed for seats on local boards prior to the deadline Friday, February 12.

Seven have filed for four seats on the City Council, three have filed for two seats on the Water District, and one candidate filed for each seat on the Mount Vernon ISD School Board. For a listing of those who have registered, see the February 18 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
