Marching contest

 Mount Vernon Mighty Tiger Band competed in the NETX Marching FestivalThe Mount Vernon Mighty Tiger Band competed in the NETX Marching Festival in Mount Pleasant on Saturday, October 12 and received a Superior First Division Rating.

District committee rules Nellor brothers ineligible

The Mount Vernon Tiger community was set on its ear last week when the news that the UIL District Executive Committee had ruled football players Cameron and Brock Nellor ineligible to play.

Social media safety presentation set

Mount Vernon ISD staff members will be hosts for a social media safety presentation for parents of all district students. The presentations will be Thursday, October 3 in the High School Lecture Hall.

Lady Tigers start district play against Chapel Hill Friday

All-region jazz band

Audra LarsenAudra Larsen was chosen to be part of the All-Region Jazz Band on the Baritone Saxophone. The band had a clinic and performance at Pleasant Grove High School on September 21. Ms. Larson is one of the drum majors for this year’s Mighty Tiger Marching Band.

Trio of students receive first Tiger Pride Award

Those honored were, front row, middle, Charles Porter, Sebastian Hamberg, and Desarae HambergThree Mount Vernon ISD students were honored with the first Tiger Pride Award for exhibiting exemplary character.
