Reception to honor six retiring teachers

Mount Vernon ISD will honor six retiring employees with a reception on Monday, May 18 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the high school library. John Hicks, Marsha Romines, Gayla Morris, Lynda Wood, Lynda Baird, and Cindy Maxton will be honored.

Mount Vernon High School FFA Land Judging TeamThe Mount Vernon High School FFA Land Judging Team competed in the National competition on Thursday, May 7 in Oklahoma City and finished in 15th place.

Intermediate, junior high schools named as Title 1 Reward Schools

The Mount Vernon Intermediate school has been identified as a High Performing/High Progress school, and the junior high campus as a High Progress school for Title 1 students for the 2013-2014 school year.

Saltillo Ag Mechanics team

The Saltillo FFA Agricultural Mechanics TeamThe Saltillo FFA Agricultural Mechanics Team placed sixth in the Texas FFA State Judging Contest at Sam Houston State University on Friday, May 1. Thirty teams throughout the state competed at the contest.
