One-Act Play Bi-District contest at Mount Vernon ISD

The Bi-District round of competition for the UIL One-Act Play will be conducted in the auditorium on the Mount Vernon ISD main campus on Friday, April 10. The first play will be presented at 10 a.m., and they will run back-to-back.

MVHS One-Act Play advances to bi-district

The cast and crew of the Mount Vernon High School One-Act Play earned the right to advance after participating in the District 16-3A competition Tuesday, March 24.

High School UIL team wins sweepstakes

The Mount Vernon High School UIL team garnered more points than the other 14 schools participating and were the Sweepstakes winners at their home practice meet on Saturday, March 21.

Elementary raises $17,000 for American Heart Association

Fourth grade teacher Kodeann Crawford is pelted by water balloons from all directions after there was 100 percent participation in the American Heart Association fund raising by her students.Students at Mount Vernon Elementary School celebrated raising $17,302.90 for the American Heart Association at the campus wide Heart Rally on Tuesday, March 17.

Students prepare to exhibit at project show

Students who are members of the Mount Vernon FFA, Mount Vernon Junior FFA, and Franklin County 4-H organizations have signed up to exhibit goats, steers, dairy heifers, and broilers at this year’s project show and auction on Saturday, March 28.
