Members of the Mount Vernon School Board learned that the district and each of the four campuses Met Standard for the 2012-2013 school year. With the implementation of the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) tests schools either meet the standard or do not meet the standard.
This year’s senior class is the last group to utilize the TAKS tests. Curriculum Director, Carolyn Newsom, presented the Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR) to the board during their regular February meeting. To learn more on how MVISD students compared to their regional and state wide counterparts, see the Feb. 20 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
