Franklin County Commissioners Court members voted 4:1 in favor of setting the 2018 tax rate at $0.545310 to support the $5.4 million 2019 budget during their Monday, August 13 meeting.
The proposed tax rate is a 3.89 percent increase in funds collected and would mean a $5.76 increase in taxes on a $100,000 home over last year’s rate ($.53955). See the Aug. 16 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald for more details about the Franklin County 2019 budget.
