A service for Thomas Linton of Scroggins was Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the Rock Hill Cemetery in Franklin County.
Mr. Linton was born Mar. 1, 1927 in Panola County, Tex., the son of George and Hazzie Wheat Linton.
He was a veteran of the United States Merchant Marines, serving from 1944-1949. He was the owner of Linton Boat Sales in the Blodgett Community located on Lake Bob Sandlin and a life time member of the VFW.
Mr. Linton died Wednesday Feb. 26, 2014 in Mount Pleasant, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law, Peggy Linton; six brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Brown of Scroggins; his children, Robbie Linton of Center, Tex., Tommy Linton of Burnett, Texas, Michelle and Doug Moore of Burleson, Texas., Clint and Kim Miller of El Paso, Texas, Wynette and Tom Stewart of Burnett, Texas, Wayne and Debbie Brown of Midland, Texas, and Wesley Brown of Ceuro, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; his brother, Mike and Mary Linton of Tyler, Texas; sisters, Maggie Morris of New London, Dansel Clark of Kilgore; sister-in-law, Karen and her husband Jerry Ewing of Midland, Texas; numerous nieces and nephew; a special nephew and fishing buddy, Connors Ewing of Midland, Texas.
