Funeral services for R. C. Pollan, age 91 of Mount Vernon were Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the Mount Vernon church of Christ with Richard Rutledge and Chris McElyea officiating.
A military graveside service, under the direction of The Hopkins County Military Coalition, followed at Old Saltillo Cemetery.
Mr. Pollan was born in Floydada, Tex. on Sept. 4, 1922, to Edgar Pollan and Oma Warren Pollan. He married Ethleen Bishop April 10, 1942 in Floydada.
He was a retired road foreman for the City of Richardson and a member of Mount Vernon church of Christ. He served in the United States Army/Air Force during World War II.
Mr. Pollan died Saturday, April 12, 2014 at his home in Mount Vernon. He was preceded in death by a brother, Edwin Pollan.
He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Velda Williams and husband, Richmond, of Wylie; a sister, Helen Stewart of Daingerfield; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
