Oleta Stretcher

A graveside service for Oleta Dyer Stretcher, age 89 of Mount Vernon, was Monday, May 7, 2018 at the Colliers Chapel Cemetery, Talco, Tex.

Mrs. Stretcher was born  Nov. 15, 1928 in Hagansport, Tex. to King D. and Zettie Elliott Dyer. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Mount Vernon. She attended business school in her earlier years and then went on to work for Sears & Roebuck, Sanger Harris and Wyatts Cafeteria.  She also attended cosmetology school and worked as a beautician for some time.  
She died May 4, 2018 in Mount Pleasant, Tex. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Weldon “BO” Stretcher; two brothers, Baby David Dyer and JD Dyer; two sisters, Ruth and Jacquelyn; brothers in law, Frank Stretcher and Edwin Martin; sister in law, Lois Dyer.
She is survived by a brother, Bill Dyer; a sister, Fannie Stretcher; and numerous nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Colliers Chapel Cemetery Association in her name.

I attended school with Oleta Dyer, class of 1947. We were in band together. We had a lot of fun traveling with the band our senior year. We gave her the nick name Super Lady. Oleta played the symbols and I played drums. My condolences to the family Bill and Fannie.
