Larry Dale Onley

Funeral services for Larry Dale Onley, age 62 of Scroggins, were at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Beaty Funeral Home in Winnsboro. Burial was in the Clearwater Cemetery with Rev. Danny Suiter and Rev. Charles Ethridge officiating.
Mr. Onley was born Jan. 27, 1948 to William Bill Onley and Viola Swatsell Potter. He worked as an operator for Enbridge and was a member of the Gus Garrison Masonic Lodge in Winnsboro. He was a member of the Pine Street Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He died Wednesday, July 14 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his son, Tim Onley and his first wife, DeeAnn Onley. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Cherry Onley of Scroggins; two sons and daughters-in-law, Brad and Kim Onley of Scroggins and Stinson Lesley of Winnsboro; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ginger and Bruce Thompson of Winnsboro and Marca and Chris Cain of Huntington, Ark.; a brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Beverley Onley of Winnsboro; 13 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Pallbearers were Troy Whitworth, Tony Stone, Chris Cain, Bruce Thompson, Stan Henry, and Jim McPeak. Honorary pallbearers were David LeBarron, Ronny Stinson, and Gerald Cox.

Cherry you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I remember when the two of you first met. It was love.:) I pray that God will give you much strength, help you feel HIs precious love and help you remember the sweet memories that you both had together. I think of you often my dear friend.

Cherry, Though we live in Tyler now we always think of our dear friends from the Mount Vernon area and when we read that Larry had passed away, we were touched and said a prayer in our hearts for you that God will grant you grace and peace. You will be reunited one day soon through the promise given to those who believe in the Lord Jesus.Words fall so short now but know that they are attached to thoughts of Blessings upon you.
