Bridgeport ~ Dr. William E. Huddleston, 82, a retired family practitioner, went to be with our Lord Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010 at his home in Bridgeport.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Bridgeport. Burial to follow in East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family to receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
W.E. was born Aug. 25, 1928 to William and Cecil Huddleston in Batesville, AR. He married Polly Coffman Sept. 7, 1953 in Batesville. He was a Captain in the U.S. Air Force, a member of the Bridgeport Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Moslah Temple, American Medical Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
Dr. Huddleston was the former Mayor and 24 year city councilman of the city of Bridgeport.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years, Polly; his daughter, Linda Maggioncalda and her husband Eugene of Alexandria, VA; his 2 sons, Kevin Huddleston and his wife Ann Marie of Dallas and Mt. Vernon, Kelly Huddleston and his wife Joyce of Bridgeport; 5 grandchildren, Kasi Fagan, Thomas and Patrick Huddleston, Sarah and Olivia Maggioncalda; his great granddaughter, Madalynn Fagan; his sister, Mary Elizabeth Calloway of Arkansas; his brother, Charles Ray Huddleston of Kansas; several nieces and nephew, other relatives and a host of friends.
